A Flu Shot is the Best Way to Avoiding the Flu this Season!

Each year, 1 in 5 Americans get the flu. Flu season is highest in winter, but it can happen any time of year. It is spread through coughing, sneezing, or coming into close contact with others. Although most people recover from the flu, for older adults, young children, pregnant women and those who have health problems, catching the flu can be very serious or even deadly. The best way to prevent an infection from the flu is to get the flu vaccine early every year.

How Does It Work

Weaken form of the flu germs are injected into a patient. Over a two week period, the weaken flu germs will cause your body to develop antibodies. These antibodies provide protection against infection with the viruses that are in the vaccine.

When Should You Get Your Shot

The antibodies from the Flu Shot takes about two weeks to develop, so getting the flu shot early will protect you before the peak of flu season. Call our office to see if the flu vaccine is available and book your appointment for it today.

 Vaccine We Use
